Jim Hunter is in his second year directing the Crown College athletics programs.  Hunter moved into the position after developing the Crown soccer teams for two years.  His mission for the Crown College athletics department is to develop Christian coaches and players in their faith as well as their roles as leaders in the school and community.  During his time as the Director of Athletics, Coach Hunter has been focused on developing and improving the Storm athletic facilites and the commitment of coaches to building their respective teams into conference powers. 

Coach Hunter comes to the College from Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa where he served as an Assistant Athletic Director and Head Men's Soccer Coach for four years.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in History and Sports Coaching from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in 1997.  He also finished his Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Crown College in August, 2006.  Coach Hunter was a member of the Pillsbury Comets soccer team from 1994-1997.  He was named All-Region and was elected Defensive Player of the Year for all four years of competition.

Coach Hunter was named Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2002 by the North Central Region of the NCCAA II.  In 2003, he was awarded NCCAA Division II Coach of the Year.  He also serves as the Division II National Soccer Chair.

In addition to coaching the Faith men, Coach Hunter coached the Varsity Boy's Soccer program for Ankeny High School for  three seasons.  Before his stint at Faith, he was the assistant men's soccer coach at Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio for three years.

Coach Hunter resides in Waconia, MN with his wife Michele and sons J.D. and Ryan.
