Crown College is a proud member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division Three (NCAA III). While many associate the NCAA III only with the restriction from awarding athletic-based financial aid that is only a piece of the broader philosophy. The emphasis of the NCAA III is on the holistic development of the student-athlete with the understanding that degree completion – not athletic success – should be the primary focus of the student-athlete. That is not to say that NCAA III athletic programs are inferior to their Division II and Division I counterparts. On the contrary, with over 400 member institutions some of the most competitive athletics in the nation can be found at NCAA III contests. By removing the financial obligation of the student, they are allowed to balance their athletic and academic pursuits more effectively allowing for success at both.
Since Crown College also strives to provide for the holistic development of its students spiritually, academically, socially, and physically, our membership in the NCAA III is a perfect fit.
