New Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the Storm
The Crown College Athletic Department is pleased to announce Luke Herbert as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the Storm. In addition to his responsibilities as a head coach, he will also serve as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communication which will include sports information and all communication aspects related to the department. Director of Athletics Josh Dunwoody states, “Coach Herbert impressed the search committee from the start but what most stood out was his passion for coaching college student-athletes. He has a clear direction for what he wants to accomplish and really embodies what we are looking for from all aspects of this position. His desire to use basketball for the spiritual growth and personal development of the players fits very well with the philosophy of Storm athletics. I am excited about the future of this program under Coach Herbert’s leadership.”
Coach Herbert will be coming to Crown after serving as the top assistant coach at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. He is no stranger to Minnesota. As a graduate of Park Rapids High School he went on to complete his undergraduate work at Minnesota State University – Moorhead (MSUM) where he is currently completing a graduate degree in Public Administration. He also brings a strong familiarity with Minnesota basketball after his time as an assistant coach at MSUM for three years. Coach Herbert will be moving to Minnesota with his wife, Lindsey, in mid-July.
