Storm Women Continue to Battle, Fall Short in Two Conference Games
Saint Bonifacius, Minn – The Storm hosted Martin Luther College on Friday night and the game proved to be a struggle offensively for both teams. The Storm hit only 3 field goals the entire first half, shooting just 9% and eventually ending the first half down 23-9. In the second half, the Storm closed the gap and was only outscored 35-21, ultimately dropping the game 58-30 to Martin Luther. In the loss, the Storm was led by freshman guard Judy Mundt (Utica, Minn.) with 16 points.
On Saturday, the Storm hosted Bethany Lutheran and struggled out of the gate shooting just 20% in the first half and trailed by 35 points at the half, 51-16. The Storm outscored the Vikings in the second half, 31-25, as they shot 31% on the half and 25% for the game losing 76-47. The Storm was led by senior forward Stephanie Zroka (Elk River, Minn.), playing in her final home game of her career with 16 points. Sophomore forward Jessica Lemke (Jackson, Minn.) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.
The Storm women’s basketball team travels to Minneapolis on Tuesday, February 9th, to take on the Rams from North Central University beginning at 5:30 p.m.
