The Lady Storm took to the court for the final two games of the season this weekend taking on Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponents Presentation College and UM - Morris at the Wild Athletic Center.  On Friday night the Lady Storm took on the Saints from Presentation College who came into the game looking to secure a spot in the post season conference tournament.  The game was close for the first 8 minutes with the Saints leading by 5 15-10.  They tried to pull away in the final minutes of the half but the Lady Storm made enough stops on defense and hit some timely shots to keep the game within 13 at the half 37-24.  The second half was dominated by the Saints as they pulled away early and cruised to a 36 point win 83-47.  The Lady Storm were led by two freshman with Becca Adams (Pine City, Minn/Pine City) scoring a career high 17 points on 8-13 shooting.  Freshman point guard Joy Murry (Kenyon-Wanamingo, Minn/Kenyon-Wanamingo) contributed 13 points for the Lady Storm in the loss.  Crown College outrebounded the Saints 31 -27 but were done in by 32 costly turnovers.  Presentation College had 5 of their 8 players score in double figures.  On Saturday afternoon the Lady Storm took on the Cougars from UM - Morris.  This would mark the final game for senior Sarah Berglund who started for the Lady Storm.  The game got started right for the Lady Storm as they took the opening tap and scored on a three point attempt from freshman point guard Joy Murry.  After three missed jump shots by the Storm the Cougars took the lead for good just a few moments later on a jumper by Coresa Leighty and never looked back.  The Storm hung around for much of the first half and trailed by 8 with 9:28 to go in the game after a made basket by Chelsi Plate (Deer River, Minn/Deer River).  The Cougars would outscore the Lady Storm 26-15 the rest of the half to take a 19 point lead into the half 49-30.  The second half was all Cougars as they went on to win by 34 points 87-53.  The Lady Storm were led by sophomore forward Mary DeVries (Chester, MT/Chester) who scored 12 points on 4-9 shooting despite battling the flu all weekend.  Freshman point guard Joy Murry joined her in double figures with 10 points including 2-4 from three point range.  The Lady Storm ended the season at 2-21 overall and 0-14 in conference play.
