Women's Basketball Lose Conference Games

Saint Bonifacius, Minn - On Friday night the Lady Storm took on the Saints from St. Scholastica who came into the weekend looking to secure a top 4 seed in the conference tournament.  The game got off to a rough start for the Lady Storm as they fell behind 10-0 in the games first 3 and ½ minutes and were never able to get closer than 6 points on the night.  Crown shot just 26% in the first half to trail 35-14 at the break.  The second half saw an improvement in the shooting percentage for the Lady Storm as they shot 43% in the half to shoot 35% overall in the game.  The Saints out rebounded the Lady Storm 53-28 and scored most of their points in the paint with a decided height advantage to pull away and win 76-43.  The Storm were led by junior forward Stephanie Zroka (Elk River, Minn/Rivers Christian) who was the only Storm player in double figures with 10 points on 5-10 shooting.  The LumberJills from Northland came into the game one game behind conference leading UM –Morris after beating Northwestern on Friday night in St. Paul, Minn.  to take sole possession of second place in the conference.  The Lady Storm trailed 13-4 with 14:32 to go in the first half and were able to cut the lead to 22-17 with 7:17 to go in the first half when the LumberJills went on a 13-1 run to finish the half and lead 35-18.  They started the second half where they left off in the first half with a 17-2 run to put the game away and win 82-33.  The Storm shot just 21% in the second half and were out-rebounded 58-31 in the game.  The Lady Storm were led by sophomore forward Mary DeVries (Chester, MT/Chester) who scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the loss.  The Lady Storm finish up the season with a non conference road game against the University of Wisconsin-Superior and a pair of home games on Friday and Saturday night as they host UMAC opponents Presentation College from Aberdeen, SD and The University of Minnesota, Morris.
