Ed Harkness will begin his first season as Head Softball Coach at Crown College with the 2010 season. Harkness joins the Storm coaching staff after spending the past 27 years coaching high school, junior olympic and summer league softball teams. Most recently Harkness has coached high school softball at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop where he was head coach from 2004-2006 breaking school record for number of wins each year. He has coached the Hollywood Booster Club 18U team from 2004-2009 placing 2nd place in the State B tournament and 3rd place in the ASA Northern National B Tournament. Currently he coaches the MN Sting Stars 18U elite softball team.
Harkness currently teaches social studies full-time in the GFW High School in Winthrop, Minnesota and lives in Chanhassen with his wife Laurie. He has two children, Nea a senior at Bethel University and Ty a junior at Tufts University in Boston, Mass.
